How to search email on Windows Phone

Posted In Mobile, Email, Windows Phone - By Techtiplib on Sunday, August 19th, 2012 With No Comments »

You can quickly find messages on your phone using Search. If you use a Microsoft Exchange account, you can also search for messages that haven’t yet been downloaded to your phone.

1. Open the email account that has the email you want to find.

2. Tap Search, then type the word or name you want to find. Your phone will search in sender names, subject lines, and text in the preview for the message.

If you’re searching for an email in your Exchange account that hasn’t been downloaded to your phone, you can scroll to the bottom of the list and tap Search more in Outlook. (If you’ve changed the account name, it’ll say the new account name instead of “Outlook.”)
3. If you don’t find what you’re looking for or if you get too many results, tap Refine. You can edit the search word, specify a date range, or choose which folders to search, then tap Search.
