Freeware LockPic: Set Images From Wallpaper Fusion As Windows 8 Lock Screen Background
Changing the wallpaper is one thing, but some people like to constantly switch things around on their computers. Earlier, we have covered several programs that allow you to search for wallpapers and apply them, both manually and automatically. Previously featured tools include Wallpaper Downloader, a tool for Windows that automatically downloads & applies Bing Wallpapers as desktop background on a regular basis, and Desktop Background Tuner, an application that allows you to choose multiple image folders for rotating desktop wallpapers. If you have a Smartphone, you must have noticed that other than the background image, it also allows you to change the lock screen image from the Display options. Since Windows 8 is optimized for both PCs and tablets, the available options are quite akin to what you have in portable devices. Today, we have an app for Windows 8 called LockPic that lets you change the lock screen image by selecting it from a library of images provided by WallpaperFusion.
The application contains a wide range of high resolution images that can be set as your lock screen image without downloading it to your computer or going to the computer settings. You can select an image from the ones available on the main interface or look for one by searching it. The app lets you either set the image directly, or download it to your computer, enabling you to use the image for other purposes. Additionally, it shows you the selected wallpaper on full screen, allowing to download it at any local location and visit WallpaperFusion.com for more similar images.
To download LockPic, go to Windows Store and type LockPic to search for the app. Click the Install button to install it on your computer. Once the download and installation process is complete, Open the Start Screen and look for the LockPic tile.
Clicking the tile will launch the app. Wait for it to connect to the internet and load up the wallpapers.
The main interface contains a large number of wide screen, high quality, wallpapers, and a search box at the top to easily find the required type of wallpapers for your desktop.
Selecting an image allows you to set it as the Lock Screen image, download it to the computer, view its source, and view it on the source website.
LockPic works on both 32-bit and 64-bit versions of Windows 8.
