How to Uninstall or Disable Google Chrome Extension

Here is a simple tutorial that explains how to Uninstall or Disable Google Chrome Extension.

Uninstall extensions

Uninstall an extension to remove it completely from the browser:

  1. Click the Chrome menu Chrome menu on the browser toolbar.
  2. Click Tools.
  3. Select Extensions.
  4. Click the trash can icon Remove an extension from Chrome by the extension you’d like to completely remove.
  5. A confirmation dialog appears, click Remove.

Manage your extensions

Arrange your extensions on the browser toolbar

Simply drag extension icons next to the address bar to rearrange them on the browser toolbar.

If you want to see more extension icons on the browser toolbar, you can expand the extension icon area. Click the right border of the address bar and drag it to the left. Similarly, to hide extra extensions, extend the address bar by dragging its right border to the right. You can click the » button next to the Chrome menu Chrome menu to see your extra extensions (if they display icons).

Manage all your extensions on the Extensions page

Follow these steps to open the Extensions page:

  1. Click the Chrome menu Chrome menu on the browser toolbar.
  2. Select Tools.
  3. Select Extensions.

Adjust extension options

Some extensions may have additional settings that you can edit. On the Extensions page, click the Options link (if available) for the extension to see these settings. If you want to your extensions to show up in incognito windows, select the “Allow in incognito” checkbox for the extension.

Sync your extensions across multiple computers

To easily access your extensions no matter what computer you’re using, sync your extensions to your Google Account.

Temporarily disable extensions

  1. Click the Chrome menu Chrome menu on the browser toolbar.
  2. Select Tools.
  3. Select Extensions.
  4. On the Extensions page, click Disable for the extension you’d like to temporarily remove.
