How to find unread mail in Gmail

Here is the way to the “unread” mails in your Gmail:

Make sure you are in your Gmail, type “is: unread” at the search field then click Search mail button (see the picture below):

And here is the result:

gmail tips, tech tips, find unread mail, gmail tricks, gmailTips: If you do this search repeatedly or generally appreciate brevity, you can use “l:unread” or even “l:^u” instead of “is:unread” (or “label:unread“).

And, you can combine the quest for unread messages with others:

  • l:^u from:Techtiplib” finds all unread messages from “Techtiplib“,
  • l:^u l:^t” finds all unread starred mail, and
  • l:^u l:^k subject:Giveaway” finds all unread messages with “Giveaway” in the subject that are in the Trash.
