Although it is certainly safer to use different credentials for all accounts than identical passwords, it can be difficult for anyone to remember all of this information.

BizReport’s Kristina Knight recently interviewed Bill Carey, vice president of marketing at a security firm, who said that passwords are critical to restricting access to only legitimate users. This is growing difficult, however, given that the number of passwords used by consumers is growing.

“It’s now common for a typical computer user to have 20 to 30 different passwords or more,” Carey told Knight. “The main reason people ignore common password security practices is that they cannot remember more than three to five strong passwords at a time. And when users need to change their passwords frequently, it becomes increasingly difficult.”

Rather than experience the frustrations and dangers associated with remembering dozens of passwords, consumers can receive strong passwords without remembering complex credentials. Consumers who no longer want to worry if their passwords are in danger of being cracked by sophisticated hackers should strongly consider changing up their security measures and adopting a password manager to ensure safe web browsing.
