To Be Sold in November at $ 499, Things You Must Know About the Xbox One

Microsoft today officially released its new generation video game console Xbox One at the E3. Accompanied by a series of games and new features, Microsoft tries to create the Xbox One as “living room entertainment center”, let us look at a few key points of the release.

Xbox One

Priced at $ 499, officially on sale in November

To keep up with the holiday shopping season in December, Microsoft chooses to sell this product in November. But different from last November’s Nintendo Wii U monodrama, this year it will compete against the Sony PS4.

Although it’s equipped with 500G hard drive, Blu-ray player, built-in Wi-Fi and Kinect sensor, the $ 499 price makes us disappointed, after all the Xbox 360 was priced at only $ 399 in 2005.

Xbox LIVE Gold members get two free games every month

In order to compete with the other two vendors online services, Microsoft made some changes on its paid services Xbox LIVE Gold version, which directly copied the Sony PS Plus free games mode. Gold members will receive two free games monthly, the first batch free games are “Assassin’s Creed 2” and “Halo 3”, these two games may be quite common, but the “tank world” may also adopt such a mode for free download. Existing Xbox LIVE Gold membership can be smoothly extended until expiration.

Integrated SmartGlass

SmartGlass is a function similar to Apple AirPlay’s “second screen”, although the current SmartGlass has no real “killer” applications, Microsoft still brought us some highlights at the E3 conference, such as enhanced tablet experience.

Built-in streaming media capability

The main difference between the Sony PS4 and Xbox One is that it can become a portal for streaming media players, as it’s with built-in Twitch.tv and Upload Studio system. The Twitch.tv is a professional game show broadcast platform, in the future players can use Kinect to control the broadcast. On the other hand, players can use the Upload Studio to edit, comment on their game screens, and share.
