When it comes to rendering, there is not a mystery that this is more a technique for creating 3D images. That is how these images get closer to reality and more when it comes about movies or games. But rendering has a great story behind, and the techniques used for this action are very important too. Knowing them will certainly give you an important start in this job.

Scanline- A First 3D Rendering Technique

There are different types of 3D rendering that have appeared throughout the years. At first one is the Scanline technique that is used in speed. This is a technique used more for the real-time rendering and for different interactive graphics that a person can create. The technique of scanline is based on a polygon to polygon basis, instead of the pixel by pixel. This is a viable option for most of the images that are created in the 3D format. That is how scanline techniques can achieve on a high-end graphic card the speed of 60 frames per second or even more. So any 3D image can be created at a greater speed in order for the effect to be a powerful one. That is how any person can work in rendering and give life to its own idea.

Raytracing- A Second 3D Rendering Technique

Raytracing is another rendering technique that is used quite often in the 3D format. So in raytracing, for every pixel in the scene, a certain number of rays are traced to the nearest 3D object. After that, the light rays pass through different reactions like reflection or refraction. This process depends more on the 3D scene that a person wants to create. The color of every pixel will be inserted incomputer algorithmically and it depends on the interaction of the light rays with the 3D objects. That is how raytracing is a great solution when wanting to create more photorealism. This effect is quite present in any 3D creation that uses the rendering applications.

Radiosity- A Third 3D Rendering Technique

Last but not least, Radiosity seems to be quite essential for every single usage of the rendering. This effect is calculated independently from the camera. Despite other techniques that use pixel-by-pixel combination, Radiosity is based more on surface orientation. The base of this technique is the idea of creating a real image, as it creates more accurate colors by diffusing them. So a certain object in the 3D format can receive more the aspect of soft or glossy, by the simple help of this technique. Radiosity includes characteristics that are based on graduated shadows or color bleeding, where bright colors and materials can receive a certain aspect of diffusion. 

Whether it is about raytracing, radiosity or scanline, these are the three techniques most used in the creation of 3D effects. They are quite popular because of their capability to show realism and quality. That is how any person can work in rendering and give life to its own idea.  After that, the success will follow you, as 3D is a technique that is more and more required on the market. This is a technique used more for the real-time rendering and for different interactive graphics that a person can create. So any 3D image can be created at a greater speed in order for the effect to be a powerful one.
