Dell laptops, the branded laptops that are privately owned by Dell Inc., are trustworthy as well as flexible. Alike all the machines these laptops can get slowed down if they are not properly maintained as well as cared. So, if one overcomes with any kind of problem with these laptops, one can follow below given steps before sending it to dell laptop repairs.

The steps described below are recommended by Dell Company in UK. So, one must try it before handing it over to the laptop repairer.

Clear your Recycle Bin:

This is one of the simplest things that one can do in order to speed up the working of computer. Most of the files do not get completely deleted; instead they remain in Recycle Bin. Thus, emptying Recycle Bin will free up the space on the hard disk and may speed up the computer if the hard disk is nearly full. Thus, for speeding up your computer’s performance by emptying recycle bin one can follow the path-

Desktop > Recycle Bin > File > Empty Recycle Bin > Yes

Scan windows for errors:

The steps described below are recommended by Dell Company in UK. So, one must try it before handing it over to the laptop repairer.Eventually as the time passes, after some time the system files gets corrupted. This especially happens in that case when different programs conflicts or the computer is not being properly shutdown. As the hard disk ages, the partitions of the disk, commonly known as “sectors” can get failed off. As a result, it corrupts most of the data that might have been residing there before the failure. Thus, one can correct these errors for regaining the lost performance by keeping the hard disk as well as its resident files error-free. Thus, in order to scan your hard disk for the errors, you can use the Windows application called Scandisk. You can go through the path-

Start > My Computer > Right-click the hard disk drive that you want to check, and then click Properties > Tools > “Error Checking” Check Now > select “Automatically fix file system errors” > select “Attempt recovery of bad sectors” > Start.

Defragment your hard drive:

As you run the Scandisk, the hard disk still may not perform optimally even after recovering all the bad sectors. Generally, with the normal use, the files get deleted as well as written repeatedly. As these actions makes the file scattered everywhere, it makes it more difficult to retrieve the files quickly. So, as this is analogous to having the paperwork scattered throughout over the desk, it takes more time to find what you want if they are scattered all over the place. It is relatively much easier to retrieve paper and file folder if they are stored in alphabetically and serially inside the filing cabinet. The similar task is performed by one of the windows tool called “Disk Defragmenter”. It organizes files as well as folders on the hard disk in an ordered format for its easy retrieval. Thus, defragmenting the hard drive will increase the performance of your Dell laptop and thereby allows for faster access of file. To run the Disk Defragmenter process, one can follow path-

Start > My Computer > All Programs > Accessories > System Tools > Disk Defragmenter > select Drive > Defragment.

Disk cleanup:

The Dell computer’s hard disk can instantly get cluttered with the continuous use. The cache files, temporary files, installation files as well as other unwanted files reduce the hard disk’s available space unwontedly. So one can free up this space by running Disk Cleanup tool that is built-into windows and which helps to find and remove unnecessary files. One can start Disk Cleanup by following the path-

Start > All Programs > Accessories > System Tools > Disk Cleanup. Thus follow the instructions and prompts as provided by the application wizard.

Thus, after following these steps, if still the problem with your laptop persists then you may contact laptop repairer.
