Google recently unveiled its Android Device Manager, a system that will allow users to protect their phone in the event that it is lost or stolen. According to InfoWorld, the new program will ensure mobile security by allowing Android users to either find their device or remotely wipe it free of data. Since Android Device Manager won’t be available until the end of August, SiliconANGLE recently recommended several Android data security apps that users can implement in the meantime. Lookout Security and Antivirus

Lookout provides customers with continuous protection from malware, spyware and adware. It can also locate a lost device and trigger an alarm. In addition, the app saves the phone’s last location when the battery is running low, and it can send you an email with the picture and location of anyone who enters the wrong passcode three times. Finally, Lookout lets users back up and restore all data on the device.  Article should read: How to Set a Security Lock on Your Android Smartphone.

Android Lost

This app makes it easy to track the location of your mobile phone, and it also allows users to remotely monitor device activity. With Android Lost, you can access the most recent calls, shut off WiFi and take pictures with both the front and rear cameras on the device. It also sends notifications if the SIM card is replaced and can set off theft alarms that include a flashing screen. The app can also enable the microphone, which lets users record sound from anyone speaking into or near the device.

Sticky Password

One of the simplest and most effective ways to protect your Android device is by downloading a mobile password manager like Sticky Password. This program randomly generates complicated passwords that are stored behind multiple layers of protection, ensuring that your logins and online identity can’t be accessed in the event that your device is lost or stolen.
