Comcast Versus DISH Network
One of the most popular satellite TV offerings in the United States is DISH Network – and, with good reason, too. Dish is available in all 50 states, making it one of the widest distributed satellite TV services across the country while bundling TV and DISH high-speed internet. So, if you live practically anywhere in the United States, you’ll be able to get DISH.
But, cable’s also around the country, too. Comcast, love them or hate them, are also one of widest distributed TV providers in the United States. In this short article, we’re going to see whether you should get DISH Network or Comcast for your home.
Comcast Versus DISH Network
Comcast operates in 40 states, including the District of Columbia and, undoubtedly, are the largest cable TV provider in the US. Dish is located throughout the entire country, providing competitively priced satellite TV service for years. Which one is more suitable for you?
Service Contracts
Believe it or not, Comcast offers competitive rates for a standard 24-month contract. People don’t even have to lock themselves into a longer term agreement, either. Most people get a two-year contract at $84.99 per month for their first 12 months. If you don’t lock into a 12-month contract, that’s the price you’ll pay for just 6 months.
All of Dish’s service contracts lock in customers for 24-months, though the rate more or less stays the same.
Winner: Comcast may provide a little more flexibility for people who want to save a little more.
Value Packages and Premium Packages
Comcast’s lowest priced package is their local-only TV service at about $30 per month. Though, their lowest priced cable TV package starts from $34.95 per month for new customers. It doesn’t include equipment and premium channel costs, though.
Dish offers a better value. Their lowest priced package starts at $19.99 per month with 40-plus channels to make up for it. Their next value package has 55-plus channels at a competitive $19.99 per month for 12 months, but it costs $29.99 at its normal rate.
The highest tiered packages are a bit different. Comcast’s Premiere package gives customers over 200 digital cable channels, including premium channels like HBO and Showtime. It also includes a massive Sports Entertainment Package, including NFL RedZone. All of that costs $84.99 per month for 12 months in a 2-year service contract. The remaining 12 months are billed at $104.99.
Dish’s highest tiered package gives customers over 290 channels with a free Hopper HD-DVR upgrade for the entire home. It package also includes plenty of HD channels and premium channels like the aforementioned HBO and Showtime. Everything costs $89.99 per month for the first 12 months, and then costs $119.99 per month after that.
Winner: DISH Network. Dish might provide a lot more value than Comcast, especially at that rate. Though, it’s best to do a bit of research before picking one over the other.
