Windows 10 – What Businesses Must Know?

Posted In Windows - By Techtiplib on Sunday, February 1st, 2015 With No Comments »

Earlier this week, Microsoft® released its newest preview of Windows® 10 to their registered “insiders” with many in the press offering up positive reviews. In Windows 10, for the first time, Microsoft gives users a single operating system that will span different devices and usage scenarios. For many businesses, it is a challenge to manage different operating systems on PCs, tablets, and smartphones. Having one environment to build “universal” applications is of great interest.

Microsoft also broke new ground when it announced that users will be allowed to upgrade from Windows 7, 8, or 8.1 to Windows 10 free of charge during the first year following the release of Window 10.

One challenge users may face, however, is the challenge of migrating to Windows 10. That’s the problem our software addresses. This is relevant because the Windows 10 preview indicates that Microsoft will rely on its partners to support the process of migrating users from an old PC to a new Windows 10 PC.

Besides “free”, enthusiastic feedback was given to the Windows 10 integration with Xbox and also the “HoloLens” technology. I’m not sure how useful either will be for the average business user in the short term, but it is exciting to envision how our lives will change when such technology is widely adopted and we fully participate in virtual 3D worlds.

As you may know, about a year ago, Microsoft endorsed Laplink’s PCmover software as its migration platform of choice, allowing users to move to a new PC quickly and easily. And whether you are migrating to Windows 7, 8, 8.1, or even 10, PCmover will fully support the process.

Why not see how easy it is? Try PCmover now at no cost and no obligation. Download a full copy of PCmover® Enterprise to migrate everything to your new OS.

Whether upgrading existing PCs or moving to a new PC, Laplink has the right technology for you.

For larger organizations, PCmover Enterprise provides a flexible and cost-effective approach to refresh all your PCs. Its unique capabilities allow IT departments to easily configure PCmover Enterprise to the different needs of departments or user groups to perform the most efficient migration. Recently, a project manager of a Fortune 100 company told me they migrated roughly 100,000 PCs in more than 100 different locations using PCmover – in less than a year. No matter if your project is 100 PCs or 100k PCs, PCmover Enterprise will do the job for you – saving you on average a minimum of $ 300 per PC deployed.

Start planning your company’s migration scenario early by testing PCmover Enterprise. I personally invite you to evaluate PCmover Enterprise and the license costs are on me. Download your free evaluation here and discover no matter what the migration challenge, PCmover will simplify it.
