Drone Domination: Why 2015 is going to be the Year of the Drones for the Business World

Posted In Business, Technology devices - By Techtiplib on Friday, March 20th, 2015 With 1 Comment

Although the technology isn’t “brand new” anymore, it seems like everyone is talking about drones these days. Drones have evolved from being agents of war into potentially making speedy everyday deliveries over large distances a reality.

While drones are relatively new to the public, their popularity is growing fast. Many industries are finding interesting uses for them, and they are quickly being integrated in places we never thought possible. Not only do people find drones fascinating, but they are also useful. This popularity will only grow stronger as we find more uses for this technology. Keep reading to see why the coming year could be the “year of the drones,” if the technology continues at its current rate.

Drone Domination

Drones Will Reduce Costs

The average price of shipping products to consumer is steadily increasing with the largest spikes in shipping cost occurs around the holiday season. One way to reduce shipping costs is to make shorter trips that occur more frequently by utilizing air rather than ground delivery. This is where drones save the day. By the end of the year, we could see drone delivery as a normal form of transportation in many industries.

Reduced Storage Requirements

Another benefit of drones is the reduced need for vast warehouses. Businesses will need to keep less inventory on hand due to the convenience of drone shipping, which in turn means that the overall cost of certain items will be reduced as a result of smaller storage requirements. This means items like computers, small televisions and other items near 5 to 10 pounds in weight will become substantially cheaper for consumers to buy.

Shorter Shipping Periods

One of the largest benefits of drone shipping is the major reduction in shipping periods. No longer will customers have to wait days or weeks for products to be delivered by their local ground carrier. Amazon Prime Air promises it can shorten deliveries to 30 minutes or less. That means you can order books, movies or any other relatively light product before you sit down to dinner, and have it in time to enjoy after supper.

More Developments are On the Way

The Phantom SDK was just recently opened to other developers as it is the leading drone SDK platform, which proves that drones have the potential to evolve rapidly. This rapid advancement of drone technology will mean that we can quickly overcome logistical problems, and improve drone-related processes even more. While developers work hard to adapt, change, and improve the technology, we’ll only find even more uses for drones in the business world, which could mean some huge advancements in 2015.

What Challenges Exist for Drones?

Like most new technologies, drones are not without their share of challenges to overcome. Some experts state that drones will be too costly and that their logistics will be a nightmare. The good news about these challenges is that they can be overcome with time, some investment from large players like Amazon, and a few small advances in technology.

2015: Year of the Drone

Drones have had a significant amount of time to develop. While they are a new development for the consumer market with their fair share of challenges to overcome, they will soon be the next big thing that businesses and consumers rely upon.

It’s safe to say that 2015 will be the year of the drone, especially when you consider the unique benefits that drones have. From delivering perishable products to aiding other drones in mapping paths, drones will soon become a part of everyday life.

Drone was a successful technology today, and lots of manufacturer working hard to make it more durable, fly stable and battery last for the long run, I was hoping someday I could buy this one since today this toy are really expensive, but it depends on the brand you trust.
