HJSplit – Split and Recombine Files on Windows

Posted In Utilities - By Techtiplib on Saturday, March 7th, 2015 With No Comments »

HJSplit is a freeware for Windows (32 bit and 64 bit) and Linux that allows you to split and recombine files (like Splitter and Joiner). To use on Mac, you can try the free app Split&Concat. With this tool you can easier to send/receive files to your friend, upload file to website, FTP server than handle the entire file in one go.

This file splitter can also be useful for backups. A file of e.g. 10 gigabytes in size can be split into smaller parts which then can be burned to CD’s, DVDs, copied to USB sticks or uploaded to an online backup service.

HJSplit for Windows and Linux support file sizes of over 100 Gigabytes, MD5 checksums, file-compare, “run without installing” and both editions are fully portable. HJSplit for Windows does not need to be installed nor does it depend on any special DLL’s. Just extract the contents of the zip file into a directory of your choice, and start the program by double clicking on hjsplit.exe.
