The LG G3 and the Samsung Galaxy Tab A 9.7 may seem to belong to two different phone categories with the latter’s 9.7-inched screen, but the LG G3 seems to be capable enough to be at par or even surpass the specifications and features the Samsung Tab A 9.7 possesses.

LG G3 Samsung Galaxy Tab A 9.7

At first look, the big difference in the screen size of the LG G3 and the Samsung Galaxy Tab A 9.7 is very evident. The G3 LG has a 5.5-inched screen and a resolution of 1440 x 2560 pixels. It also comes with Corning Glass 3 protection. The Galaxy Tab A, on the other hand, has a 9.7-inched screen offering a lower resolution of 76 x 1024 pixels.

Power-wise, the G3 comes with a Li-Ion 3000 mAh battery that runs with a Quad-core 2.5 GHz Krait 400 processor, giving the device efficiency and maximum performance capabilities. The Galaxy Tab A, on the contrary, has a massive 6000 mAh battery, obviously due to the extra space wherein a bigger battery can fit in to the device. It is powered by a quad-core 1.2 GHz processor, a feature slower than what the G3 L3 can offer.

Storage capabilities of the LG G3 still surpass that of the Samsung Galaxy Tab A 9.7. The G3 comes with 32 GB, 3 GB RAM, and provides support for microSD’s up to 128 GB. Meanwhile, the Samsung Galaxy Tab A 9.7 Smartphone comes with 16 GB, 1.5GB RAM for the Wi-Fi-capable unit, and a 32 GB, 2 GB RAM for the LTE-capable model. The smartphone tablet also has provisions for microSD’s up to 128 GB.

Photography enthusiasts and selfie lovers will enjoy the 13 MP primary camera of the G3 that has a 1/3” sensor size and features simultaneous video and image recording, Geo-tagging, HDR, and face detection. Its front camera comes with a 2.1 MP camera with a 1080p@30fps. As for the Samsung Galaxy A 9.7, it comes with a lower 5 MP rear camera, with Geo-tagging capabilities and a front camera of 2 MP.

Obviously, even with the lack of a bigger screen for the LG G3, its internals are definitely more spectacular and impressive than that of the Samsung Galaxy Tab A 9.7. As for the price tag attached to this unit, the LG G3 also offers a fair price considering the striking specifications that comes with it. You can check G3 LG phones and prices via PricePanda.

One of the greatest highlights of the LG G3 is the virtual reality capabilities it offers.  LG and Google have already teamed up to offer the new and extraordinary VR experience for the LG G3 users. The project, dubbed as the VR for G3, is a wearable technology gadget that is based on the Google’s “Cardboard VR headset” design. New purchases of the LG G3 is rumored to be coming with the option of a VR wearable technology upon purchase.

According to LG, users can club the LG G3 headset and the VR headset together to experience VR gaming and enter the virtual reality world featured in the VR applications available on Google Play. A VR game will also come with the LG G3 and VR headset bundle, the RoboBliteration video game and can be purchased for free using the code that comes with the bundle box.

Google initially introduced the Cardboard to provide an affordable VR headset last June 2014 during the Google I/O 2014. Google distributed the Cardboard headset as well as DIY instructions on how to use the device during the event. They even posted instructions as to how the audience can create their own version of the Google Cardboard using magnets, lenses, cardboards and other materials.

The LG new VR for G3, on the other hand, will come with a Rear Key layout design, a unique design that has become iconic to the G series of LG. The VR device can also be used with the Bluetooth headset LG Tone Infinim which will be launched anytime this November 2015. The VR headset will also come with a scrollable neodymium ring magnet on the side of the gadget and will work with LG G3’s gyroscope sensor.

LG is definitely proving its worth as it rivals against the Samsung’s launch of the expensive Samsung Gear VR that will work exclusively with the Galaxy Note 4 phablets. This move of LG is also considered as one of its marketing strategies to maximize the hype and excitement on the release of its LG G4 model.

As of the moment, one thing is sure. The LG G3 surpasses and wins against the Samsung Galaxy Tab A 9.7 in a multitude of reasons mobile fans will rave about.
