Ever since a global blackout which created an outrage among WhatsApp users, the instant messaging giant has rolled out a brand new feature.

WhatsApp will function in a way resembling the organization instant messaging app- Slack, the former app will permit users to pin specific chats of their choosing to the top of the app. This proves to be an effective way if the user’s smartphone is overwhelmed and crammed up with lots of chat conversations. However, at present, this feature is available only in the experimental beta version of the app.

WhatsApp has not officially announced a release date. However, it is set to be rolled out and launched on the iOS and Android platforms in the upcoming months.

To initiate and facilitate this feature, all the user has to do is press and hold on a chat to display the plethora of choices where they can pin, mute or remove the chat conversation altogether.

In 2014, the social networking giant Facebook acquired the WhatsApp app for nearly 19 billion dollars.

Ever since Wednesday evening issues have begun to plague the Facebook – owned instant messaging app which has over 1.2 billion users. However, in the tail end of the day around 11.20 pm, most of the users stated that the services of the app could be availed once more without any hindrances.

There was no official announcement from the side of the instant messaging app related to the source of the issue. Remonstrance and criticism were taken instantly to the social media which made it the vogue of the day with relation to Twitter in the United Kingdom.

A majority of the users claimed that the app could be availed but that there was no connection or synchronisation with its servers, thereby creating hindrances and stopping the users from sending or receiving any chats.

Down Detector which is a Web service tracking site stated that the problems related to the instant messaging app surfaced at approximately 9 pm in the United Kingdom. Similarly, issues were noted to happen in the United States as well as in the nations of South America and Asia as well.
