RecordCast – Free Online Screen Recording Tool with Built-in Video Editor

Nowadays, there are really more and more useful free screen recording tools on the Internet. It can almost be said that the computer does not need to be installed. The tool RecordCast recommended in this article not only provides quite comprehensive recording features, such as only screen, screen + webcam, recording system audio or from microphone, and after recording, there is even a simple post-production function, adding text, background or cutting different clips together, all free of charge.

Overview of RecordCast screen recorder

The use of RecordCast is very simple. It’s not a must to register an account. But you can get one if you want to store your project file under your account. RecordCast allows you to get a quick registration with Facebook and Google, or register an account with your E-Mail.

Let’s record our screen by choosing a recording mode first. There are three modes, “Screen + Webcam,” “Screen Only,” and “Webcam Only,” then click “Next Step”:

Next is the recording setting. The default is Microphone + System audio, and it can also be set to single or no need to record sound.

After setting the recording, select the screen you want to share, the entire screen, the designated application window, or the specific Chrome tab.

Then, it is recording. Here you can press the red stop icon to stop recording. RecordCast allows you to pause/continue recording anytime. You can also choose to re-record the whole recording.  You will be welcomed to view it. If there is no problem, you can directly click Download to download the video. If you need to edit, click “Edit and Export in MP4”.

RecordCast video editor tools’ interface is the same easy as most other video editors on the marketing, so it is quick to get started. Below is the video track while the media library is at the top left and the preview video feature is at the top right.

Online Screen Recording

You can upload your videos, audios, photos to RecordCast video editor and edit them to a new video. Add some text captions to your video to tell your visitors what you want to tell. To make the text displayed beautifully on the video, adjust its font, color, size, alignment, etc.  

Suppose you want to add background or background music to your video. You can freely revolve any element you don’t want as well. After you are satisfied with your final video, click “Export Video” to export it as MP4. The output part supports three image qualities of 480p, 720p, and 1080p.

All the videos you record will be stored in My Projects, with a maximum of 8 available. If you exceed them, you must delete the old ones before you can record the new ones. RecordCast is based on HTML5 technology. They do not store users’ videos on their server but on the client-side locally. So if you want to re-edit your project next time, make sure you don’t delete your video from your computer.
